Know What To Do When Faced With Changes In Business
Change is the central component of growth and in business change calls for vision, a driving team along with a tight context if it is to be delivered effectively and positively. This is why emphatic leadership is so important in a business enterprise.
But while inquiring into change, it is essential to not toss the baby out with the bath water in that, on the other side of the coin is the importance of consistency which is likewise crucial, specifically in processes that relate to products or services, quality, revenue or even, to some extent, natural growth.
So, this pair of opposing principles ought to coexist in a healthy and balanced company. Just how do we develop that? The solution is to recognize that effective companies require both change as well as consistency, change being the domain of leaders and consistency being the domain of supervisors.
Thinking about this pair side by side, it is not very difficult to see why consistency and change (or for that matter managers and leaders) are typically testing to unify.
The key elements of exceptional leadership for favorable and enduring transformation. The formula to produce this change involves a simple four-step process:
STEP #1 ASK THE TOUGH QUESTIONS
STEP #2 FEEL THE REASON
STEP #3 CREATE A SIMPLE, STRAIGHTFORWARD PLAN
STEP #4 ACHIEVE POSITIVE & SUSTAINABLE CHANGE
Importantly, as leader, the code of conduct or ‘context’ you establish around your team and its behaviour is central to their ability to stick together and attain outcomes. Your group will certainly look to you to live up to this code at all times and when you do it will begin to have a life of its own.
This is where staying on track and also attaining positive and sustainable change requires your individual commitment, nerve and discipline: being consistent with the message you preach and then connecting with your team in an authentic fashion when delivering it is very important.
Your capacity to develop and cultivate a solid context is directly commensurate to your capability to do these things, and with a strong context your team will certainly self manage; self align; move mountains; and then produce the favorable and sustainable changes you seek.
Take a deep breath and be prepared to be human, to concede failings and to be open to change yourself. You will certainly be appreciated as well as followed as a leader in a far more compelling fashion when you have the nerve to do these things.
